Future Plans

I plan on attending community college for the next two years, then maybe transfer to a four-year university. Career wise, I don’t really know what I am headed for yet (that’s for me to figure out at CoD), but I have a feeling it might have to do with English, the arts, or language. I’ll figure it out eventually!

Favorite DCA Memory

So many to choose! I really enjoyed the DC Trip in eighth grade, it was very educational and extremely awesome (plus pretty yummy food). The retreats were also very exciting, especially when I sang the entirety of “Bohemian Rhapsody” in front of the entire high school my junior year. Various school events like dances and rewards trips also make the list, but my most favorite DCA memories were made goofing off with my best friends (Molly Glaab, Audrey Spradlin, and Khayman Cunningham).

What will you miss most about DCA?

I will miss the familiarity with everyone! Due to the size of campus, we grow to be well acquainted with pretty much everyone, student and staff alike. That is something that won’t be there when I go away to bigger schools with more people. I am also going to miss seeing my friends everyday and going through life with them on a regular basis, as well as seeing certain teachers around campus.

Was there a DCA teacher or staff member that had a significant impact on your life?

Oh of course! I absolutely love all the teachers on campus, but Mrs. Harrison has really had a huge impact on my life. She became my English teacher in sophomore year, but we really grew close during theater class and at my youth group, where she was the high school girls leader for a while. She has been and is an excellent mentor to me, and I really look up to her. We share a lot of the same personality traits, and she has helped me find who I am, as well as strengthened my relationship with God. I really am going to miss being in her English class and gushing about literature/the arts. Mrs. Harrison, THANK YOU for being a huge inspiration to me and loving/helping/advising/and supporting me! I love you!
